Alexandrite, 18 karat white gold

A friend came to me with this beautiful cushion-cut Brazilian alexandrite to set in an engagement ring. Alexandrite is an amazing stone, because it can look blue-green by daylight or fluorescent light and purple or red by candlelight or incandescent light. We chose a classic cocktail-style solitaire ring in 18k white gold for the setting, to give it that platinum-like look that will set off the stone day or night.
